To help support safety education, the Power Smart for Schools team at BC Hydro developed an annual, employee-driven campaign called Electrical Safety Week.
Each year in May, employees visit classrooms throughout B.C. and deliver a safety presentation to students. With the ease of health and safety restrictions, BC Hydro’s employees were welcomed back by teachers to share important safety messages that help youth stay safe around electricity and a video was identified as a tool to assist staff with delivering the learning.
Our team was brought in to create two animated videos: one video for students in grades 4 – 7 and another one (that was a little simpler) aimed at grades K – 3 (below). We customized the message for the two audiences and added some fun elements to keep students engaged. Our services included project management, scripting, style frames, storyboards, voiceover recording, animation, and sound design.
