The First Nations Health Authority hoped to raise awareness among First Nations audiences about things to look for and how to get help if they think someone they know may be developing dementia.
The initiative was produced in partnership with the Gitxsan communities of Kispiox and Sik-e-Dakh. This was just one in a series of similar projects that we’ve produced for the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) over the past decade.
Our team had the opportunity to travel to Smithers, BC to conduct interviews and supporting b-roll footage for this important video. We spoke with community nurses, family members living with people affected by dementia, a care-aid worker, and even with the CEO of the Alzheimer’s Society, who we interviewed later on in Vancouver, BC.
