Douglas College offers a Doula program that has a component that centres around End-of-Life care. This work has an important overlap with First Nations communities, and there was an opportunity to train instructors who could travel to such communities to offer this type of care.

The First Nations Health Authority partnered with Douglas College’s Nursing Department commissioned our team to create an awareness video to help increase knowledge that this important program exists and promote the program to potential trainees.

Filming took place over a couple of days at two different locations: one in Nanaimo, to capture the program opening and the Elder blessing, and another one in New Westminster, where we captured the interviews with various project participants.

The result was a compelling piece that will definitely help to motivate and inform potential candidates that may like to take the course and begin this kind and compassionate form of work.
